Mystara Arena - 2018

Project 2

Mystara Arena is the game we developed for Project 2. We were tasked with using assets from an already existing game in order to create a new one, designing and programming the gameplay by ourselves. The team size was increased to eight from the four we were in Project 1. This allowed us to have people more specifically assigned to each part of the project. I was in charge of designing the gameplay, and I also created the art and designed the UI of the game, part of which ended up unused because of time restrictions.

In Mystara Arena, as with Gunbird, I was also in charge of the Quality Assurance of the project. I created a QA document with all the procedures, set up GH Issues with tags and a template for bug reporting, and scheduled playtests. While I'm not proud at all of how the project came out in the end, I am however about the experience it gave me as a QA Lead and the gameplay and UI design I was able to perform.

At the end of the project I wrote a short development diary with all of the tasks I did in the development of Mystara Arena, including every document and asset. You can read it here.
